We leave LA – which seams almost impossible because it takes hours just to get out of this city!
-and head east to Joshua Tree where we stay at the Joshua tree inn. I am immediately
falling in love with this place.
“the birds” own gram parsons, composer of a many legendary rock song, checked out for good
here in room number 8. in the middle of the sandy court yard there is a little shrine in his
honor – candles, guitar, jack daniels bottle…
U2 as well has written their songs for their album “joshua tree” at the Inn.
Joshua tree inn has a big swimming pool and we all hopp in before we take our gear
to the beatnik café. Aah!
Driving up and down the street we hand flyers to every person alive in little Joshua tree.
And what an evening! The audience consists of a famous alpinist, a Disney composer
and many more interesting fellows. Joshua tree people are the best and we so much
enjoy our concert at the beatnik café!
Around midnight we drive to the Joshua tree national park and gaze at the moonlike
landscape, the enormous rocks that seem to be sleeping giants… and it’s a full moon.
